VARBERG FORTRESS

Welcome to the fortress in Varberg. Over the centuries, the fortress has become one of the most important symbols of Varberg and the history of Halland. With its high stone walls, it stands as a memorial to a time of war and power when the Nordic countries were in constant conflict with each other. Varberg Fortress is a state-owned building managed by the National Property Board. The fortress outdoor area is open for all to visit. You can also book a guided tour or use the audio guide app.
