Bullets and gunpowder
The powder horn
With the use of muzzle-loaded firearms, the hunter had to carry with him all the tools and accessories necessary to load the firearm. Gun powder was stored in a powder horn. The name derives from the fact that they often were made from the horns of cattle and goat. They could however be made from a wide range of materials. The fact that they often are decorated shows that they were a dear possession of the hunter.
